Owen lands promotion at Solidor thanks to ‘first class’ service

January 4th 2018

At just 19 years old, Owen Mullock plays a vital role in helping to process customer orders at here at Solidor.

Working in the nerve centre of the company, Owen is responsible for processing orders, completing paperwork, liaising with various internal departments and delivering a ‘first class’ service to our customers.

Owen, a former St Margaret Ward Catholic Academy pupil, joined Solidor as a business administration apprenticeship in 2015, through PM Training.

He quickly progressed in his role as an order processor and, after completing his 12-month course, recently landed a promotion into our technical department.

Owen, of Birches Head, said: “I went to college before but it wasn’t for me, I decided I wanted to get some experience under my belt.

“I started out doing things like printing out paperwork to eventually processing orders and answering the phones.

“Now I deal directly with trade customers which is something I really enjoy.”

He added: “I am very proud of the way I have developed in my role and as a person. I am now looking forward to processing in my career and starting work in a different department.”

Owen has now been nominated for The Sentinel Business Awards, in the Apprentice of the Year category, sponsored by Seddon Construction.

Lisa Barnett, HR manager at Solidor said Owen has a willingness to learn and is always prepared to go the extra mile.

She added: “Owen has gained experience and has been able to progress and develop within the business.

“He is very committed, he comes in with the right attitude every day and has enthusiasm and a willingness to do the job in hand. He’s taken an interest in the business and the industry and I have no doubt that he will be able to progress through into another area if he wishes.”

Emma Collett, assessor at PM Training, said: “Owen has been a pleasure to work with throughout his qualification. He is professional, polite and has shown commitment with all aspects of his apprenticeship.”

Well done Owen!
