Gareth Mobley, managing director of innovative composite door manufacturer, Solidor, was awarded Young Business Person of the Year for Staffordshire, at a high profile awards dinner. The presentation was made on the 27th March 2012, at King’s Hall in Stoke-on-Trent.
The award came in a hotly contested category that was open to all men and women, aged 40 or under on 1 March 2012, who have made a significant personal contribution to the success of the company they run or in which they are employed. Solidor’s growth has been hugely impressive, as has the way in which they’ve led the way in terms of product development and customer satisfaction.
A number of key elements made Gareth the obvious choice including a rebranding exercise, a number of high profile new customers, increasing the workforce to over 50 and investment in a new factory. The company has just moved to a new 34,000 sq ft facility in Longton, Stoke-On-Trent, where it will continue the growth of Solidor and build on the new Passivdor and DorPro brands.
Gareth comments: “This is a fantastic accolade not just for me, but also for all those involved in Solidor and it is also dedicated to my Father who jointly started the business with me. We’ve built firm foundations in the business and will continue to be innovative, first to market and above all, customer focused. Our DorPro and Passivdor brands will also further our success.”
