As G13 Promotional Campaign of the Year – Retail winner and G14 finalist in the same category, it comes as no surprise that composite door pioneer, Solidor, came away from Grand Designs Live 2014 at the Birmingham NEC with a number of qualified leads.
Based on the Channel 4 TV series and presented by design guru Kevin McCloud, the event was packed with over 500 exhibitors across six different sections, covering interiors, gardens, food and housewares, kitchens and bathrooms, home improvement, self-build, renovations, technology and shopping. This was the second year that Solidor exhibited at the show with interest again high in their second generation composite doors.
This year the show was extended by a further day to cope with demand from visitors and it’s been estimated that around 60,000 visitors came to the show, up 10,000 on the 2013 official figures. Over the course of the 4 days, approximately 200 qualified leads were taken by Solidor, taking into consideration the use of their web-based Door Designer software on four iPads that were on display and also the fact that consumers looking to create their own door, harnessed this technology after the event.
Solidor’s consumer facing brand has not only captured the imagination of the trade sector, but also in the eyes of homeowners looking to add a stylish door to their property. The impressive range of door designs from the luxurious Italia Collection to the more traditional, along with 17 colours and woodgrains inside and out and exclusive range of hardware are just some of the key features that set a Solidor composite door apart from its peers. But it’s not just the external visual aesthetics that set it apart, as their use of a solid hardwood timber core and the promise of a UK manufactured product are also key influences.
Gareth Mobley, managing director of Solidor Group comments: ‘We’ve again captured the imagination of consumers with our products and marketing at Grand Designs and look forward to feeding the leads into our Recommended and Premium Installers. Our growth really does not show any signs of abating and we’re actively investing in the business to ensure we keep the momentum going.’
