As regularly visitors to the blog will be aware, each month we like to introduce the people behind the Solidor brand and give you some insight into their individual role and the things they like to do away from the office and factory floor.

2) How many years have you worked at Solidor?
Just over 1 year
3) Which is your favourite Solidor range, and why?
My personal favourite is the Florence from our Italia collection. It has a contemporary vibe with the ability to complement most properties. I love this one because it allows customers to opt for something exciting and “contemporary” without being too outspoken. It has a simple brilliance and broad compatibility, a lot like myself 😉
4) Proudest moment/ achievement at Solidor?
This is an easy one. It has to be the honour of standing with my fellow friends and colleagues at the recent G13 Awards as we accepted our award for ‘Promotional Campaign of the Year – Retail’. It meant a lot to see the business recognised and rewarded for its hard work and ingenuity.
5) What does an average day for you consist of at Solidor HQ?
Most of my time is spent with customers, both retail and trade. My main focus is to make sure that retail customers are getting the help and guidance that they need to get their dream Solidor installed. I’m either on the phone, in our beautiful showroom, web chatting, Tweeting or distributing retail leads to our valued trade customers and managing our installer network. I also get involved with a little bit of technical support. When I can find a spare 30 seconds, I will engulf a big sandwich and some oatcakes. There seems to be a common belief that I am always eating but this is simply not true.
6) Hobbies and Interests:
I have several hobbies. My main hobby has always been music, specifically making and creating heavy metal! I’m a big guitar nut and like to dabble at playing the drums as well. I’ve finished building my second electric guitar and have developed a general interest in woodworking and basic electronics. I’ve played in bands, produced and mixed music for other bands and so on. Alongside this, I like to socialise over a nice half pint of shandy from time to time in my local. I nearly forgot to say spending time with my Fiancée. Make sure that goes in.
7) Which football (or other sports) team do you support?
I have a poor quality, media unfriendly answer of “none”. I like to watch boxing when it’s on but that’s about it.
8) What would be your dream car?
I am not particularly into motors. Maybe one that turns into a boat/submarine like James Bonds’ Aston Martin would be sufficient for a dream car. Maybe I’ll build one.
9) If you could have any celebrity or public figure purchase a Solidor composite door for their home, who would it be? and why?
As controversial as this may be, I would say Jeremy Clarkson. I would love to hear him say “Another victory for true British craftsmanship”, or something to that effect. I think he would love our doors. He would appreciate the fine details of the product that set us apart from the competition.
