Mr Millward lives in a Victorian end terrace in Wakefield which was originally 2 houses, one being used as a corner shop then in around 1950 the two were combined. Mr Millward, having lived in the house for three years felt his door was looking really dated “it didn’t give the WOW factor. As our house is on the corner it’s one of the first houses you see as you drive onto the street, we wanted something that really stood out”
Quickslide are local to Mr Millward and were recommended to him by his father in law. “Quickslide were great, I dealt with Jess who was lovely and helped us make my vision of how I saw it come together. They have been brilliant, even the surveyor that came out was so professional and really gave me the impression that we were in safe hands.”
Mr Millward was originally going to go for the Ludlow door style, but after looking on the Solidor website he changed his mind “I saw a blog post about 2 new doors added to the range, London and Edinburgh, we loved them both but Edinburgh was right for us, still similar to the Ludlow but with deeper glass, it just had that little unique twist that made it that little bit different to the others in the street”.
With 20 colour options available Mr Millward found it difficult to choose one, he used the online door designer tool to create the perfect door for his home “ As a designer I had each idea in mind and new exactly what I wanted. The French Grey is stunning but when we saw that Peacock Blue was new, it just clicked”.
Since the new door has been installed Mr Millward has noticed a change “It’s much quieter now, it feels so much more secure and we’ve noticed how much more light comes through into the hallway now. We’ve already recommended both Solidor and Quickslide, we have had so many compliments and we have seen people drive by and slow down to have a good look!!”
