At Solidor we have a strong belief in supporting our employees. Our apprentice progression rate is extremely positive and with it being National Apprenticeship Week we’d thought it would be a great time to introduce you to five former and current apprentices from PM Training.
Adam, Production Apprentice
Adam Brown, 19, from Trentham is currently twelve months into his apprenticeship with Solidor. As an apprentice in the business he’s carrying our a variety of tasks within each department to increase his product knowledge, supporting teams and making new friends. Everyday is different.
“I really enjoy my apprenticeship. It’s very planned and organised.”
Owen, Junior Technical Co-ordinator
Owen, from Birches Head started as a business administration apprentice in 2015 within the order processing team. After successfully completing his apprenticeship he is now a key member of our technical team, providing expert advice to installers offering on-site support.
“An apprenticeship was the best thing I did. I wanted to get a job behind me and Solidor is a great company that has supported me to progress.”
Rhea, Customer Services Adviser
After two years doing a Level 2 Business administration apprenticeship, Rhea progressed into a permanent customer service role. During her apprenticeship she became more confident and developed an extensive product knowledge that means she is able to handle enquiries from across the company.
“Without the experience I’ve gained I wouldn’t be where I am today. I’m in a role that allows me to move forward and progress. I really enjoyed the PM Training assessors coming in each month.”
Grace, Sales & Marketing Coordinator
Grace started with Solidor in 2016 looking for a career change away from retail. She started on a Level 3 Digital Marketing apprenticeship and successfully progressed to become a Sales & Marketing Coordinator. Her role involves taking calls from home owners and supporting marketing activity.
“I’d definitely recommend jumping straight into an apprenticeship. What you can achieve with an apprenticeship is great. I’ve been learning on the job and growing my confidence at the same time”.
Kyle, Glass shop
Kyle joined Solidor in 2016 as a Glass Shop apprentice and quickly got to grips with a variety of different tasks including bevelling, leading, cleaning and final inspection. After successfully completing his apprenticeship he is now a permanent member of the Glass Shop team.
“During my apprenticeship I enjoyed learning and making friends. I now get set targets and my role allows me to keep on progressing”.
