Solidor Chosen For Self-Build Project

December 14th 2015
Compared to other European countries such as Germany and the Netherlands, the number of self-built homes in the UK is relatively small. But with Chancellor George Osborne keen to get Britain building in response to a widespread housing shortage and offering numerous incentives for people to take this route, self-building is becoming more popular with Britons.Creating a self-built home enables you to put your own personal stamp on your property and can prove significantly more cost-effective than purchasing a ready-built residence.

That’s something that new Solidor customers Becky and Nigel realised when they decided to self-build and create their dream home.

In amongst the many considerations they needed to make before building commenced was settling on the right type of windows and doors, as Becky discusses in our latest case study video.

Plenty of window and door research was carried out as they sought a window and door design that offered both a traditional and contemporary feel.

They found that Solidor and Residence 9 made for a perfect combination, complementing each other brilliantly.

The traditional feel of oak on the inside and contemporary anthracite grey on the outside of their Solidor particularly appealed.

We are delighted that Solidor has played its part in helping the couple realise their ambition.
