JOB TITLE:
Material Planner
RESPONSIBLE FOR:
Maintaining the purchase order book; raising purchase orders and tracking order confirmations, delivery dates and escalating any risks to the Materials Manager.

DETAILS OF JOB:
- Maintain key supplier data including contact information, lead times, product descriptions and price lists
- Process purchase requisitions/orders within purchasing authority daily
- Ensure all orders are confirmed validating agreed terms such as: price, quantity, delivery date, description and any other relevant information
- Monitor and manage purchase orders from creation to delivery ensuring that delivery dates are met and improved when required to ensure production schedules are maintained
- Ad hoc purchases as required
- Escalate any supplier issues that may put production at risk the Materials Manager.
- Maintain data on operating system (SAGE/Evonet) to ensure order processing is accurate
- Report rejected stock back to the supplier and organize replacements/credit.
- Maintain records to deliver defined key performance indictors to form a monthly report
- Conduct stock counts of parts to ensure data accuracy and investigate any discrepancies.
- Resolve invoice queries from Finance.
Key Skills
- Good knowledge of IT/Microsoft office and Outlook
- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
- Ability to prioritise workload and work under pressure to deadlines.
- Proactive approach to problem solving.
