Darren tells us why he chose Solidor

March 12th 2018

Darren lives in a modern looking detached house in Peterborough where the original uPVC door was looking rather tired, wasn’t very thermally efficient and didn’t provide an adequate level of security.

I searched on Google for the most secure front door and found the Solidor website immediately.  I was impressed with the solid timber core and the fact that it’s fitted with an Ultion cylinder as standard as I wanted a door that was going to provide extra security.  After browsing the website I was also pleased to read that Solidors exceed the building regulations for thermal efficiency.

Darren contacted local Solidor retailer, Ivan Thompson Windows, after finding them on the Solidor installer postcode search facility.

The team at Ivan Thompson Windows were really good. Ivan explained that I could have the offset French door that I wanted and even helped me to pick out the colour by suggesting that I should have a matching door and frame to make it really stand out.  I chose the Brescia from the Contemporary Italia Collection in Schwarzbraun and I’m really pleased with the results.

Since the door has been installed I’ve noticed that it’s a lot warmer in my hallway, which is exactly what I wanted.  The door looks fantastic and the locking mechanism is so easy to operate. It gives me the confidence that I’m secure in my home.  I’m pleased that I did my research and bought a Solidor.
