Mr & Mrs Jones moved into their dream 1920’s detached house in Stoke on Trent at the end of the summer. The house is a renovation project and they have a long list of jobs to complete over the coming months.
Mr Jones comments: We fell in love with the house from the moment that we stepped over the threshold. We knew that the house was going to require some TLC and that the home improvement project was going to be a long process but we’re both excited to turn it into our forever home.
After carefully planning which tasks to take on first, Mr & Mrs Jones decided to replace the existing timber front door.
Mrs Jones comments: The front door was timber and had been poorly fitted. The lock mechanism was difficult to use, it was draughty, and the paint had started to flake. We both lead busy lifestyles and felt that the timber door would require a lot of maintenance and so decided to change it to a composite door.
Mr & Mrs Jones carried out an extensive online search to find the best fit for them and soon came across Solidor.
Mr Jones continues: After seeing the vast range of both door styles and colour options available from Solidor Composite Doors and from reading the many positive online reviews, we decided that we’d found our new front door.
Mr Jones contacted local firm Simply Doors which he found by using the postcode search facility on the Soldior website.

Mrs Jones comments: Omar and the team at Simply Doors we’re great. They we’re really friendly and came out to measure up within a couple of days of us contacting them. I had a clear vision of how I wanted our new front door to look and when Omar showed us the Solidor door visualiser which is part of the Solidor door designer tool I really enjoyed playing around with the different furniture and glazing options until I found what I wanted.
Mr & Mrs Jones opted for the Ludlow door style from the traditional collection with minster glass and architectural furniture. Wanting a simple yet elegant look they chose black as the external colour and trendy French Grey internally to match their newly decorated hallway.
Mrs Jones continues: I was so excited on installation day and surprised at how quickly Simply Doors fitted it. Now that it’s been installed, we’re both so pleased. It looks beautiful, really compliments the front of the house, and feels incredibly solid and secure.
