Mr & Ms Somanchis live in a 1950’s semi-detached house in Worcester Park, Kingston upon Thames. The original door was a heavy timber door and was becoming increasingly draughty and difficult to operate which is why they decided to upgrade.
Mrs Somanchis explains: Our front door was becoming very draughty and we found it difficult to get our double pushchair in and out of the house due the width of the door. Our hallway has always been quite dark, so we were keen to let more light into and so decided that we’d start researching different door options.
Mr Somanchis contacted The Wright Glazing Company, a family run business based in Cheam. They’re part of Solidors National installer network, have a highly skilled team of fitters and pride themselves on delivering excellent customer service to their customers.
Mr Somanchis explains: We loved how Solidor showcase classic British door styles and that they have the added benefit of using modern materials. Solidor appeared to be of a much higher quality that any other composite door brand that we’d considered. We we’re also impressed with how much The Wright Glazing Company knew about the product.
After a lot of deliberation Mrs & Mrs Somanchis chose the Ludlow in Anthracite Grey with matching frame. They also opted for a new glass design called Oceanic, which has been specially designed for Solidor by world renowned fused glass artist Jo Downs.
Mrs Somanchis comments: We we’re surprised at how vast the glazing range from Solidor is and knew that we wanted something special to highlight the entrance to our home . We were ideally looking for an opaque glass style with abstract ornaments so when we saw the Oceanic glass design by Jo Downs we thought it was just perfect. It looks fab doesn’t it?! and it’s completely unique to us.
The team at The Wright Glazing Company did an amazing job, not only with the installation either! We were very impressed with how tidy they left our entrance hall.
After the door and side panels were installed we panicked for the first couple of days! We kept thinking that we’d left the front door open as the hall was so light and bright. We’d recommend both The Wright Glazing Company and Solidor to our friends and family.
