The Team

Steve Smith - Office Manager

I came across Solidor as they were looking for a “Retail Sales Manager” to join the business. The concept for the role was to develop an elite network of installers so that we can provide high quality leads for our loyal trade customers and to solidify the brand with the homeowner market. I would assess installers for our network, look for gaps in our coverage, offer product and technical support for homeowners, web chat service, social media interaction, showroom visits and handle customer service queries. I also provided product and technical training sessions for the office staff.
I have recently been promoted to office manager which is a big step up and a welcome challenge. I am now responsible for our entire Customer service and order processing operation as well as our technical support team.

Retail Sales Manager - June 2012

Office Manager (Customer Service and Order Processing) - Jan 2017

Office Manager (Customer Service and Order Processing + Technical) – March 2017

Being such a dynamic and fast paced business, I’m sure that other “doors” will open in the future.
Right now, I am focussed on bringing the best out of our office teams and processes. This will be a long term plan but I hope to grow the office in line with the business and take on more responsibility along the way.

Dave Massey - IT Project Manager

Like many in this industry, I started in it purely by accident!! A mere youth as part of an employment drive with a growing business. 14 years later I have moved from basic order processing through customer support, technical support, office management and into project management. Since the beginning I have always been in-and-around the IT side of the industry which is an interest of mine and has progressed over time.

I started with Solidor in 2013 as Office Manager, overseeing both the Order Processing and Customer Service teams. At that time Solidor was seeing its first big growth into the major player it is today. As Solidor grew so did I and my experience in the industry and with an IT background saw me start to prepare a potential new Order Processing system in 2014 which led to being named Project Manager in 2015. This new role allowed me to really come into my own. Since that time I have overseen multiple advancements in the business which include the establishment of an Online Ordering Platform, Factory Door Tracking, a revamp of Order Processing to name but a few.
I hope to further expand the scope of the projects I am involved with at Solidor as I enjoy getting involved in a variety of aspects of the business and bring my product and industry experience to the table. It’s a good time to be at Solidor and the DW3 Group as a whole, there are many exciting opportunities coming up and massive scope for further expansion.

Rob Stinton

My father has always worked in I.T, I learned a great deal from him in my earlier days. I didn’t study I.T until I got to Newcastle College and took my first Diploma, from there I went to CLM I.T Academy
which is a Microsoft Certified Training Academy in Crewe to achieve two additional Professional Diplomas in I.T.
At this time I was working for a computer retailer that specialized in customer built computers. Building computers seemed like a great job, the novelty soon wore off when I was building for 9 hours a day… After working there for over a year I was notified of a job opportunity at Solidor which I looked into, after two interviews I was happily informed that I had got the job and 14 months later I’m still here enjoying every day. I’m now studying for a Comp TIA A+ qualification which will open up the doors to becoming a Certified Microsoft Professional in I.T.

Cameron Edmonds - Technical Team

My career started with Solidor in 2006 when I took up an apprenticeship working as a Glass Technician
At this point Solidor were in the very early stages, manufacturing roughly 10 doors a week, each year growing in size. Wanting to progress within the ever expanding company and to learn more about the business and industry I was now part of, I was lucky enough to be promoted to the office working on Quotes and After Sales service. This is where I learnt a lot about the product and business, giving me a lot of product knowledge. With this knowledge I built an interest in the Technical side of the company which has lead me to the role I’m currently doing to this day. Growing up with Solidor and watching it get to what it is today has been an incredible experience and I feel very lucky and honoured be working for the best composite door company on the market.

2006 – 2011 – Glass Technician
2011 – 2013 – Quotes/After Sales
2013 – 2014 – Customer services Team leader
2014 – 2016 – Technical Support Co-ordinator
2016 – Present - Senior Technical Support Co-ordinator.

My future progression within the Business for me and where I would like to see myself in the future is to grow and develop the ever growing Technical support department to the highest level and also look to support with the Research & Development side of the business, helping to stay one step ahead of the competitors.
