Nicola Scott’s charming country cottage is located in a small village near to the picturesque Jurassic Coast in Dorset.
Living so near to the sea had caused some weathering to the existing doors and windows. Nicola decided to replace them in order smarten up the appearance of the cottage so she contacted nearby Premier Windows of Weymouth to assist her with the project.
The old front door and back door were getting old & had become draughty and stiff. I wanted to get them replaced at the same time as having the windows changed to limit the amount of disruption that the work would cause.
A Solidor for any home
Solidor has a beautiful selection of both traditional and contemporary door styles. On this occasion Nicola decided on the Flint Bullseye for the front and a Flint Beeston Stable door for the back as she felt that these would be best suited to the aesthetics of her home.
I wanted something that would stand out from other doors in the village but at the same time be sympathetic to the look of our stone-built house. I opted for French Grey on both doors. It’s modernised the look of the house and smartened it up which is great. I think the stable door in particular adds a real country feel to our home. We’re really proud of our new doors.
The Solidor range is a great choice for any style-conscious homeowner like Nicola wanting to update their home. With the attractive appearance of timber and all the benefits of low maintenance composite materials, Solidor is the only hardwood timber core composite door manufactured in the UK.
Added Peace of Mind
Every Solidor features a robust thermo-plastic door skin meaning that going forwards Nicola will no longer need to worry about the beautiful French Grey colour chipping, scratching, cracking or fading. And with a Secured by Design Licence and PAS 24 – 2016 Certification a Solidor door offers peace of mind when it comes to security.
