Replacing a drafty old door

Kayla Dukes lives in an upside down (bedrooms downstairs & living spaces upstairs) mid- terraced house in Brentwood, Essex.

Replacing the drafty old front door has been high priority for Kayla since moving in three months ago.

“The original door was very old, it didn’t feel secure and it let in a horrible draft.  Replacing it with something more substantial was high on my list of priorities.”

Modern Style with enhanced security.

Kayla visited local company weGlaze, where the Solidor range came highly recommended.

“As soon as I saw the brochure I knew I wanted a Solidor. The designs, colours and glazing options are so modern, they were exactly what I had in mind.

There was never any doubt that Kayla wanted to purchase a front door that was more robust than the original uPVC door.

I didn’t feel very safe with the old door, so security was also a big factor for me.  I was really pleased to hear about all of the enhanced security features available. It put my mind at rest knowing that I was buying the most secure composite door available.”

Grey is the new Black

Solidor offer an industry leading 20 different colours.  With so many variations it can be difficult task to decide which colour to go for.  Luckily for Kayla the decision was easy.

“I was so pleased to see so many modern colours in the brochure, it was really important that I got something on trend. I love everything grey at the moment; it’s definitely the new ‘black’. The French Grey was just perfect”

The hallway in Kaylas home was particularly dark.  The old door didn’t let a lot of light in so this was something that Kayla really wanted to change.

“I wanted to maximize on the light coming through the front door.  A design that had a glass panel in the door was a must for me.  weGlaze suggested the Brescia door style which features a full height glass panel, I was sold as soon as I saw it”.

A total transformation

The new door has changed the appearance of the front of the house and Kayla has already noticed the benefits.

“My door looks stunning!  It’s totally changed the front of my house, and it’s great that I’ve been able to add my own individual stamp.  The door feels so secure and lets so much light in.  My neighbours definitely have major ‘door envy.  I am so happy, the service from weGlaze & Solidor has been wonderful.  They’ve made the whole process effortless.”
