Alyson lives in a four bedroom semi-detached house in the small village of Hollins Green just outside Warrington. The house was built 11 years ago as part of a small development on the site of an old farm.
Alyson is currently carrying out significant renovations to the property, one of which is to move the position of the front door.
As I needed to remove the existing door I took the opportunity to upgrade it. I was keen to ensure I had a quality, highly secure door with a more modern locking mechanism, something that would be easier for my children to operate.
My initial research online pointed me to the Solidor range as their security features were superior to any other composite door that I’d looked at.
Alyson used the postcode search facility on the Solidor website to locate her nearest Solidor retailer.
It was great to be able to visit The Black and White Window Company. Their showroom was excellent and they were able to tell me more about the Solidor range. That really helped me to finalise my door design.
My new door needed to be in keeping with the rest of the development so whilst the door colours available from Solidor were great, I was restricted to a few colour options. Golden Oak fitted well within the guidelines, I really liked its warm tone and it matched the colour of the windows perfectly.
Alyson considered several different style options before finally deciding on the Flint Bullseye.
I really liked the symmetry of the Flint Bullseye and I paired it with pewter furniture from the Traditional range which I think works really well against the Golden Oak.
The installation went really well. The Black and White Window Company were very professional and helpful throughout the whole process. I’ve already recommended them to my friends and family.
Now that the door has been installed I’m so pleased with it. I haven’t seen the benefits of it just yet as there’s still other work to be completed before I can move back in. One thing I have noticed though is how strong and sturdy the door feels. I’m really pleased that I chose Solidor.
