As part of our recent Solidor Style Makeover campaign on Facebook we offered homeowners the chance to win a brand new Solidor. All they had to do was submit a picture of their tired old front door.
The competition was a huge success and we were inundated with entries from people keen to update the front of their homes and add extra kerb appeal with a new timber core composite door.
Picking a winner was incredibly difficult, but after a lot of deliberation Kara Molton-Smith from the seaside town of Withernsea in Yorkshire was chosen as our champion.
Lucy Jones Marketing Executive at Solidor said “choosing the winner was really difficult, there were so many worthy entries. Kara had captioned in her entry that she was about to move into her new house, that she really didn’t like the current door, and would love our help to give it a makeover.
Kara’s photo showed a generic white uPVC door. Straight out of the 1980’s, it looked pretty old fashioned. The letterplate was broken and the door didn’t appear to be very secure.
Lucy continues, When we saw kara’s competition entry we thought that a new Solidor would give Kara the chance to add her own personal stamp to the front of her new home.

“I still can’t believe that I was lucky enough to win! I never win anything and so it came as a complete shock. With the help of Charlie from Homeseal Windows I chose the Ludlow door style in Chartwell green and I couldn’t be happier with my decision.
We’ve settled into our new home and our new Solidor has really made the front of our house stand out. The door style, the colour, the glass, everything! I love it! Who knew choosing a door could be so exciting and a way to add a bit of character and class to your home!
